Programs

FOCUS offers a number of community centered programs including a Child Abuse Prevention puppet show “It’s All Right to Tell”, a volunteer program at Park Elementary school called Tiger Buddies, Santa’s Workshop hosted by the FOCUS Thrift Shop, a Scholarship program for graduting Harris County High School seniors, and our largest event of each year, our Thanksgiving Food Program which feeds an average of over 400 Harris county families for the holiday.

In addition to our regular programs we donate to many individuals and organizations in our community.

We give fabric, frames, cloth and craft items to the Harris County Senior Center.

Books are given to the Harris County Library, Park Elementary, various other schools, nursing homes,
prisons, abuse shelters and the VA Hospital.

Books were given to help establish the Ellerslie Little Free Library.

Children’s clothing is given to the clinic at Park Elementary.

Clothing for men and women, along with bibles, are given to the jail ministry.

Stuffed animals are given to Harris County EMS and nursing homes.

Stuffed animals and linens are given to the Harris County Animal Shelter.

Clothing is given to the drama club at Harris County high school and middle school.

Clothing and toys are given to the SOAR Ministry for children in Mexico

Miscellaneous items are given to the Waverly Hall Nursing Home for Christmas.

We provide discounted items for children and adults at the Harris County Health Department’s Back to School Rush along with free haircuts from local hairdressers.

We loan items to various churches throughout the summer for Vacation Bible Schools.

We work with Harris County Social Services in regard to homeless children at the high school.

We give clothing throughout the year for various reasons to families in need after fire, disaster, or when a specific need is present.
