The event will be from 6 until 8 p.m. in the Harris County High School. Tickets are on sale now for $10 each and can be purchased at FOCUS or through any FOCUS Board Member.
The FOCUS office is open Tuesday and Wednesday 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Tickets are also available at the FOCUS Thrift Shop, open and Thursday and Friday from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m.
The “Empty Bowls Project” is an international grassroots effort to fight hunger. Communities across the world hold events to raise both money and awareness in the fight to end world hunger.
The Art Department at Harris County High has sponsored the Empty Bowl fundraiser to benefit FOCUS for more than 20 years. Art students create handmade bowls, and guests at the event enjoy a simple meal of soup, bread and dessert. In exchange for a cash donation, guests keep one of the handmade bowls as a reminder of all the empty bowls around the world.
